It seems that the risk of occurrence of clusters is particularly high when the “Three Cs” overlap. （クラスター発生のリスクは３密が重なると特に高まるようだ） 日本の第1波が爆発的な感染拡大とならなかった大きな理由の一つとしてあげられたのが、クラスター予防のための、徹底した「３密」回避だと言われています。
３密とは「密閉」「密集」「密接」のことで英語ではそれぞれ、"Closed spaces" " Crowded places" "Close-contact settings" の頭文字をとり、3Cs などと呼ばれています。「密閉」はClosed spaces with poor ventilationと紹介されていますが、venitilationは「換気」なので、poor venitilation で「換気の悪い」という意味になります。
また、Close-contact settingsのsettingsとは「状況」「環境」という意味になります。
